Sync Camps

Real Briefs | Real Placements | Real Development

Apply for CTRL Camp’s new virtual songwriting camps – weekly creative labs where artists, producers, and writers collaborate on real sync licensing briefs making pitch-ready music.

WHAT'S A SYNC WRITING CAMP?

These aren’t your average songwriting challenges.

Each week, we unlock a real music supervisor brief and host a virtual songwriting camp where selected artists, producers, and writers team up to create a sync-ready song — with coaching, direction, and direct pitching by sync pro Eric Campbell.

Whether you’re an artist, a top-liner, or a beatmaker, this is your chance to sharpen your skills, collaborate with serious talent, and create songs clients are actually asking for!

HOW IT WORKS

1. Review The Camp Schedule
Look for camps that align with what you do REALLY WELL. This may not be the best time to experiment with new genres (however, if you have a voice that fits a genre that you are less experienced in, you may want to give it a try)
2. Submit an Audition ($10)

Submit a short sample showing your fit. This keeps the bar high and the team focused.

Singers, submit samples that demonstrate your vocal tone.

Producers, submit samples that demonstrate your proficiency IN THE GENRE of the camp (they don’t have to be the beats that you’re submitting for the camp)

Writers, submit songs that you wrote or co-wrote that demonstrate your proficiency IN THE GENRE of the camp

3. Get Selected + Join for $99

If chosen, you’ll be placed on a team of 3–5 collaborators (based on your role and vibe).

If chosen, you’ll be required to pay a non-refundable participation fee of $99

Note that this is significantly cheaper than the going rate for songwriting camps (typically $300 – $500).  This hopefully allows you to participate in multiple camps that match your strengths.

4. Join The 1 Day Camp

Work virtually with your team — guided by live coaching, feedback, and A&R direction.

The camps usually take place on one day of the weekend and last from 8 – 12 hours

5. Submit your Sync-Ready Song

You WILL end up with a song ready to pitch – guaranteed! Your coach will SEE to it!!

Meet Your Coach

Hi, I’m Eric Campbell. I am a songwriter who has been working in the sync licensing industry for over 10 years and I have written some amazing songs. And I’m not saying that to brag. I’m saying that these songs have gotten me amazing results. I’ve written songs that have opened doors to amazing opportunities so I know the power of well written, emotionally-filled, impactful song.

I’ve written songs that have been included on award-winning soundtracks for major TV shows. I once wrote a simple ballad as a demo for a producer and that demo got me hired to write songs for an entire season of a major TV show (and that ballad was used in 5 episodes that season).

I’ve written songs that were recorded by major artists including Ne-yo, Musiq Soulchild, Bootsy Collins and Deborah Joy Winans.

I’ve written songs that were included in animated features like the Baby Shark show and major dramas like Shameless.

Those who know me, know that I’m passionate about teaching people about the sync licensing industry. I have been sharing information freely for over 5 years and that information has led many to their first sync placements or their first signing with a sync agency.
